We invest and support innovative ideas and start-up projects. With our expertise, we help entrepreneurs transform their ideas into practice.
We invest in a range of innovations with strong potential for social impact on a large scale.
We believe that the best ideas for solving some of the world’s most critical problems can come from anyone, anywhere. Through our grants and risk capital, we help breakthrough solutions to global development challenges from for-profit firms, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and government agencies to maximize their impact and affect meaningful change.
We define ‘innovation’ broadly to include new business models, policy practices, technologies, behavioral insights, or ways of delivering products and services that benefit the poor in developing countries — any solution that has the potential to address a vital development problem more effectively than existing approaches.
Helping small start-ups to achieve sustainability and growth is vital for both the development of industries and corporations. Small businesses are critical for job creation, improving living standards, raising productivity, and achieving inclusive economic growth and social cohesion. Many of the new jobs will come out of small, medium, and micro-enterprises.
Part of our mission is to empower entrepreneurial initiatives, boosting the development of business with the right founding team, business partners, and investors and with skills and know-how development. We aim to provide start-ups with essential tools and resources that can be used for their growth, survival, and success of the business. Essential tools and resources can be divided into financial and non-financial support. Non-financial support can be provided in the form of mentorship, market access, network access, and the learning of new skills.
